This patient presents with Class III malocclusion on the right (a right sided underbite) with a bilateral posterior cross bite (top teeth inside relative to the bottom teeth). He had seen many orthodontists prior to coming to Humphries Orthodontics. All of the previous orthodontists all indicated that he needed to have his jaws broken in order to fix his bite. Dr. Humphries suggested Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics, another surgical procedure that is much less invasive than traditional orthognathic surgery. The procedure allows the teeth to move in ways that we cannot move them in conventional orthodontics. In addition it allows us to move the teeth at a much more rapid rate. This case was completed in 9 months.
